While technology has forever changed the way we buy music, a number one ranking on the charts with a new release is still a pretty big deal. On February 9, Nielsen Music reported that Big Sean scored his second No. 1 Billboard album with I Decided. His latest work topped the Migos' Culture which dropped to No. 3 behind Lady Gaga's post-Super Bowl resurgent Joanne.

Released on February 3 through G.O.O.D./Def Jam recordings, the first week's sales came in at 151,000. Less than half of those were traditional album sales at 65,000 while the rest came from digital downloads and streaming services.

For many artists, having an album debut at No. 1 is a huge feat to pull off even once. For Big Sean, lightening has struck twice. His first time landing at the top of the charts was in 2015 with the release of Dark Sky Paradise. It racked up 173,000 units sold with 139,000 of those being traditional album sales. This was the first year of including online sales in the Billboard 200 rankings.

Since that time, we have seen a shift in the music marketplace which has fans taking more and more of an a la carte approach to supporting their favorite artists. This hasn't seemed to hurt the rapper, relatively speaking. Congrats Sean Don!
