Jesse Williams is known for speaking up when it comes to issues he cares about, so it doesn't come as a surprise that he didn't hold back on Donald Trump.
The 35-year-old Grey's Anatomy actor was asked about his thoughts on how Trump handles racial injustice by a TMZ cameraman.
“He’s not,” said Williams. “He’s a pig who’s trying to make sure that he galvanizes as much fear as possible, particularly against black, brown immigrants and Muslims.”
Yep, he just went there. (And he's 100 percent right.)
“There were more killings at the hands of police this February than January and February of last year. 211 murders at the hands of police this year so far,” he continued.
Considering Williams' tone was so casual, it's clear he's thought about this before. The actor even received the Humanitarian award at the BET Awards for his work for the Black Lives Matter movement.
“We know that police somehow manage to deescalate, disarm and not kill white people every day. So what’s gonna happen is we’re going to have equal rights and justice in our country, or we will restructure their function, and ours,” Williams told the crowd during his speech. “The thing is... that just because we’re magic does not mean we’re not real.”
He might be known for saving lives on the T.V. screen, but Williams is doing everything he can to give marginalized lives in the real world a voice.
